When Rupert Murdoch purchased MySpace for 580 million dollars, he remarked, "Technology is shifting power away from the editors, the publishers, the establishment, the media elite. Now it’s the people who are taking control."
And he was right—many of the top sites in this newly emerging era of the Internet are blogs. A combination of news, opinion, and sensationalism—blogs dig deeper into the story than your nightly network news program, while infusing a personal perspective, and that has become their great appeal. They're making celebrities out of the everyman, and everymen out of celebrities. If you have an opinion about something and want your voice heard, you should really have a blog. You never know—you might be the next big internet sensation.
